About the Profiles

In 1955, prior to becoming the 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy wrote an amazing book highlighting acts of brave, upstanding US Senators. It became a best seller, helping in no little part to fuel his popularity which led him to be elected president. Many Americans found inspiration in these stories, fueling a resurgence in people devoting their lives to public service. Kennedy posed to America “ask not what the country can do for you-ask what you can do for your country”. Many a career in politics was kick-started by this admirable man.

Definitely ‘times they have a changed’. Courage seems to be a thing of the past. Acts of bravery are more often rewarded with scorn, threats and loss of personal freedoms. While the Trump Administration is dragging our nation into an autocratic dictatorship, it may be a cold comfort to learn more about the cast of the Fecal Matter Production we are witnessing. As we prepare to don our cement overshoes and nilly-willy jump into the icy East River, as we follow our Fearless Leader and his band of lemmings leap over the cliff and plummet into the abyss below, we at least will know who sent us on this fool's errand in the first place.
