Why is this our motto?

Do you like Latin Mottos?

Well, if you don't, tough. Keep in mind that a whole lot of government agencies use a Latin motto, so there. We're just keeping up with the traditional trends. Would you rather it be in Mandarin?

Okay, we're stuck with Latin.
So what does it mean?

When someone (like us or our country) is in a very bad situation with no hope of getting out, we often use the phrase "our goose is cooked". Hey, if you found this website, you already know how horrible things have become under the current administration. Is there any hope for relief to arrive in the near future? Not likely. And considering that Congress has acquiesced to Trump, the press is sane-washing his overt and covert craziness, the courts are either complicit in helping him or too weak to stop anything, organized medicine sits back and is wimpy and our allies are worried. Very worried. Extremely worried. Have we become a totalitarian, fascist, authoritarian regime run by an ancient, feeble-brained, malignant narcissistic, uncaring, soulless megalomaniac toddler-in-chief? Well, my friend, this is the very definition of being painted into corner, being left to die in the desert outside of Vegas or being thrown an anchor while drowning at sea. Yes, our goose IS cooked. Steaming hot, well-done, with gravy and mashed potatoes and all the fixins.

 Anseris Nostri Coquitur.
