Using Satire to Effect Change
The U.S. Department Uv Mistake (DUM) was created on November 6, 2024 by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. as his first presidential act after the heart-breaking election loss. The purpose of this clandestine agency was to mitigate the damage expected to occur when the next administration assumed office. Although DUM was intended to have wide ranging powers to reverse the most egregious governmental decisions, it was supposed to fly under the radar and not be noticed. Unfortunately for DUM, it was discovered by Elon Musk and DOGE. Musk’s team wiped the DUM budget and fired all DUM employees.
Unlike other departments, DUM leadership was prepared to carry on the DUM agenda even after its dissolution. The Secretary of Mistake, Gaston “Gas” Lighterman, established an unofficial shadow agency tasked with continuing all DUM activities for the benefit of the American public. Due to its unfunded existence, DUM employees were forced to forgo their salaries and raise all required funds through their own efforts. Soon this site will be accepting contributions.
