California to Declare Independence and Take over Abandoned US G7 Spot!

In a scenario predicted by Democratic strategist James Carveout, California is on the verge of declaring a separation from the Union. This could happen as soon as 2028, but some experts predict it might happen even sooner if Trump policies keep targeting the Golden State. It is expected that California may be joined by Washington, Oregon and Hawaii. Some pundits say eventually Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada may combine with the other states to form the Western States of America. Such a nation would be the third biggest economy in the world, an agricultural giant, a high tech titan and control Pacific/sian shipping with the largest ports on the busy Pacific Coast under its control.
California has long wanted to have a trade and foreign policy vastly different from the one Trump is forcing upon the rest of the USA. Unfortunately, the US Constitution prohibits states from making their own treaties and trade agreements. This problem can easily be solved with California's secession from the USA. As noted above, California would be free to promote trade and conduct foreign policy in a manner consistent with reason and intelligence.
President Trump has made it clear he wants to pull out of the G7 group of nations, a collective of the world's largest economies in the Free World. The G7 had been created because there are important problems and issues shared by these large, powerful economies. Trump does not like working with anybody (except maybe Russia, er Rusher). He would rather pull out of the G7 and demand they accept Russia as a member.
"Fine!" says California. "Let our third largest economy join up with other powers that share our interests like promoting economic growth, free trade and human rights around the world. We'd be happy to join with the UK, Canada, Germany, Japan, France and Italy. They're nice, friendly people and have elected officials that have functioning brains."
